QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS

Software?: Clip studio paint. anything prior to april 2024 was made in procreate

Tablet?: Samsung Galaxy tab S9, here’s a picture of my case if you give a damn. anything prior to april 2024 was made with a 6th gen ipad

Brushes?: 99% of the time I use the SOL brush for everything except the color blocking, for which I either use the default g-pen or a modified duplicate version with no pen pressure. For my more detailed works I switch around brushes a lot but I like the heavy painted brush, thiccpaint, & gouache brush set plus the default gouache brush. The brush i used on procreate for my old art was a zero pen pressure & burry tips very similar to the SOL brush

Inspirations?: Higurashi’s original sprites, Lucky star, Nichijou, Ko takeuchi, Lauren faust esp g4 mlp, Raggedy ann and andy a musical adventure, all of pokemon but mostly Gen3 and gen 7s art style and design sensibilities, Actuallyrea, 222rury, lemonesqueh1, colinarmis, anything inside this pinterest board i like to stare at

What makes you wanna do art?: i have 1000 billion thoughts and spanning narratives going over my head at all times, i think if i didn't have any way to pull it out of my brain in any way at all i would actually explode, i'm the type to start shaking when i feel something deeply, i NEED to do art of i will die

That's great but what made you wanna start drawing?: my little pony friendship is magic and exposure to the internet and deviantart communities at a young age, i'll let you decide if thats good or not

Any tips?: have fun and draw whatever you want. it's gonna be hard but it gets easier the more comfortable you get but you have to make that first step to get drawing. Be cringe. don't censor yourself, don't be afraid to wear your inspirations on your sleeve. Don't listen to people who don't have your best interest, don't try to fit into a mold you're not comfortable being put into and stay away from the mainstream “art community” and whatever tiktokslop drama the kids have nowadays

Okay but actual tips please?: easier said than done but draw every day, doesn’t need to be a finished piece. here is a video I really like that gives fun daily exercises to try. do colour studies and master studies of your favorite artists' work. DO FIGURE DRAWING i know it seems daunting at first, before i got the hang of it i tried and failed countless of times, it's not gonna look good and the proportions are gonna be funky, its okay, we live and we learn.

Do you formally study art?: yes! i am slowly but surely working on my degree on Visual arts on the university of [redacted] here in colombia

Do you recommend studying arts?: man i don't know. i don't even know if it was the right call to make or if i'm gonna do anything with it afterwards and it's been a struggle trough and trough but i'm here for the ride, ill let you look around this gallery and decide for yourself if i've improved during my two years (as of writing) there

Do you do traditional art as well?: yes! but not as often, I used to sketchbook a lot as a high schooler but i just don't enjoy it as much anymore, the comfort of digital is too enticing and yummy for me. i enjoy colored pencils, crayons, fine liners and acrylic paints the most.

Why draw what you draw? why *insert x character*?: i have a disease

Any final words to the audience?: I love cum. thanks for reading this
