CLINICAL TRIAL

17/3/25: i honnestly thought id have more thoughts on this game than i have, but ill try to write a short and sweet review anyways. spoilers
so, clinical trial is a game about angel martinez, a young adult who signs up to test pyschiatric drugs for money, they meet lee smith, the man who administers the medicine testing, and as the weeks the trial is happening pass, and angel goes trough stressful life events, their relationship grows further.
short things short, i enjoyed it, i enjoyed the writing, i enjoyed the characters, etcetera, its all a resounding like, i especially loved the more cozy segments, lee and angel drawing together especially, not to sound like every basic gay thats played this game but it reminded me a lot of me and my boyfriend, more specifically if the chasing / stalking (joke) dynamics were reversed. i related a lot to angel, of course i did, i think thats the point, if youre in the demographic that would download this game in the first place youre probably an angel type, not to knock it down or anything, in fact it was very refreshing to see my experiences be put into words like this, especially the talk about inhumanity and the wanting to be part of a more structured society where everyone is instinctually on the same page, its nice to see these kinds of things be talked about so openly, besides that i also love the premise of angel x lee in general, i dunno my highest fantasy is to be taken care of 24/7 by a man like this so of course i squeeled at their cute moments, i like seeing lee be the flustered one also, youd expect by the dynamic for him to be the dominant one but hes actually just cute, like how he didnt move the entire night they slept together for the first time because he took what angel said literally, i like how he cowards at spiders and the voodoo doll talk about comforting one another, theyre cute
but thats kind of about it for me, i dont know how to explain it but it just has big setup vibes, id like to see more of the dynamic, more of adri and angel (or adri in general, she kinda just felt like a cameo for past homieheads lol) but it kinda just cuts off, i dont know, i was an enjoyer of homies art years back before he got run off by troglodytes and his old shit just hit me harder than this, its like a very muddled version of what i would have expected from him, almost like he made it more dull because he knew it would be released to the public, i dunno, i was expecting something way more intimately pornographic yknow, maybe the cum has seeped to my brain but i wanted to see some weird intimate action between them (something ala this oghhhh yea) buttt i dont hate it or anything, i find it nice and its amazing that homies just posting art in general again, and this is just a game about his ocs thats free on itch.io so im not holding it to any standards, its fun go play it, also peachys art on this was just chefs kiss
