what even is basophie? well for starters the name is a pun i made up when i saw the word "bazofia" somewhere online. i thought it would make for a banger name and it just so happened to wanna start coding my site for real so i made that the url!. the meaning of the word bazofia translates literally to "pigswill" (cute url too tbh), the food they feed to pigs, used as an insult to mean something disgusting, repugnant, something you can easily discard. do i feel that way about my website? ofc not thats my baby! do i feel that way about myself? sure thats the easy answer i am a disgusting pervert and when i die i will be fed to the animals.

ive delved in webdev since 2021 esque (well actually i knew a little bit of it before bcoz of old deviantart core profile themes and digging on tumblr themes later on), i had a shitty website when i was 16 which i abandoned when i got caught stealing code (lmaoooo gomenasorry) and i always wanted to do another one but genuinely i dont know why i didnt get to it before now. im really bad with prograstinating so i left my site as a blank for like 2 years before i decided to code a shrine dedicated to my fav girl (anabel pokemon represent) and when i got a bit used to html i realized it was actually fun as shit! so i whipped this up!

so why make a website? its simple. SOCIAL MEDIA SUCKS DICK i dont need to tell u that! every single manifesto on the indie web tells u that shiz, because its true! socials are loud, drama filled, ran by hateful evil people and have algorythms that push shit that will make you miserable on purpose because it makes you interact with their shit posts and look at their shit ads more! im not like. purging myself from socials entirely mommy needs her yaoi fanart!, and i do indulge in posting my art here and there (ok i do have a normal tumblr acc but thats an absuive relationship ive had since 2015 that shit dont count!), i like to have a quiet little corner on a site barely anyone will see, and those who see it and dont like me can just click off and i can just not click in websites of people i dont like, and i can be as autistic as i want and still have somewhere where i can store the stuff i create. i can literally just dump my art and leave and be done with it! and i can not update for like 3 months in a row and it doesnt matter!! its so refreshing and just think about it, when you die, what would you rather have to remember, a xitter accounnt filled with 1 like flop posts, or a lovingly crafted website? much to think of.

if you have ever CTRL+U'd my site (btw i consider that a big honor if anyone has ever donethat!!!!! you can copy me and copy paste anything i bring an imitation is the highest honor kinda vibe) you will be able to tell: IM A HORIBLE CODER!! im proud of it! responsiveness? what is that? im gen z (not unc!! ^_^;;;) so i only know position:absolute, 1920x1080 screen only, be bisexual, eat autoplay audio and lie. honnestly no joke id love to make my site responsive ONE DAY (in 1000 years basophie v50!!!) but flexbox is a scary learning curve i experimented w it on this site what yall think heh and honnestly i just wanna put something out and let it mold to being better over time, this site is supposed to be for me first anyways so the rest of you are in danger i think lol. no but srsly ill one day code all of this to be pristine and beautifully accessible for everyone and ill fix all jank but thinking about it too much stresses me a bit tbf lmao but honnestly learning as you go is the fun part, browsing sites all day and going tru their links to find more sites and getting inspiration moments like "ojhh i want my site to have that!!" and reading about all the variety of people who decide to make a website and what they decide to showcase is just very therapeutic to do, do it, rn, go to the neocities search bar or my links. cough and stalk everyone you half-vibe with!! and if you dont like it guess what!! you can just CLICK OFF!!!!!!! thats so beautiful right? you can just click away and forget they ever existed and their site will never enter ur line of sight again except if theyre like in sauce but then again just dont click on it!! its that easy! i dont undesrtand like when i read a mention of ""neocities drama"" deadass just click off and dont interact. but dont click off mine tho aw please dont click off please awwwwww

at the end of the day indie web is what you make of it tbh, you can spend all day making urself misearable and stalk people you hate here as much as you can be just vibing with a tiny site of your own and keeping up with your friends and sites that inspire you, you can just do whatever bro who gives a damn!! isnt that beautiful? but you who made the desition to browse the sexiest site in the web, you sir, are in the winners side in history
